Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 8, 2026

1. Data Collection & Usage

At BikeStudio, we prioritize your privacy in accordance with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP). The personal information we collect (such as your name, email, phone number, and physical measurements for bike fitting) is used solely to process your configurations, handle quote requests, and enhance your experience on our platform. Please note: Physical measurements are only saved when an order is made and are kept for 5 years.

2. Cookies & Local Storage

We use both Local Storage and Cookies to improve performance and user experience. Specifically:

  • Essential Data: We store your language preference and cookie consent status in your browser's local storage to gracefully save your preferences between visits.
  • Performance & Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to anonymously analyze traffic and website performance. These tools may use cookies to collect non-personal data about how users interact with our site.

3. Third-Party Services & Cross-Border Transfers

To run our platform efficiently, we utilize third-party cloud infrastructure. By submitting a quote or booking request, you acknowledge that your data will be securely processed by the following services:

  • Vercel Inc. (USA): Hosts our website and securely routes your form submissions.
  • Google LLC (USA): Your order and booking requests are routed to secure Google Sheets workspaces via webhooks for our internal processing.

These processors are located in the United States. Data transfers to the US are safeguarded by internationally recognized standard contractual clauses and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework. Please note: Our part database (Sanity.io) is strictly read-only and does not collect your personal data.

4. Your Data Rights

Under the nFADP, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You also hold the right to request your data in a commonly used electronic format (Data Portability). To exercise these rights, please contact us using the email in our Impressum.

5. General Terms & Conditions (GTC)

5.1 Scope and Contracting Party

These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all inquiries, quote requests, and orders placed via the 'BikeStudio' configurator. BikeStudio is a service operated by Cycles Dotti Bike Shop SA. The contractual partner for any purchases or services is explicitly Cycles Dotti Bike Shop SA.

5.2 Quotes and Contract Formation

Submitting a configuration through BikeStudio constitutes a non-binding quote request, not a finalized sale. A legally binding contract is only formed once Cycles Dotti formally confirms the final build specifications, availability, and issues an invoice or payment request, which you accept.

5.3 Pricing and Payment

All prices displayed in the configurator are estimates in Swiss Francs (CHF) and include the statutory value-added tax (VAT). As custom builds require ordering highly specific parts, a deposit or full upfront payment may be required before assembly begins. Final payment terms will be laid out in your official quote.

5.4 Delivery Times and Parts Availability

We construct custom-assembled bicycles. Consequently, delivery times are estimates and depend heavily on the availability of third-party components (frames, groupsets, wheels). We will keep you closely informed of the timeline, but cannot be held liable for delays caused by manufacturer supply chains.

5.5 Returns and Cancellations

Because BikeStudio orders are custom-assembled to your exact specifications and geometry, they are generally excluded from standard return policies. Refunds or cancellations after the assembly process has begun are only possible in the event of severe, unrectifiable defects.

5.6 Warranty and Liability

We grant the standard statutory warranty of 2 years on defects in materials and workmanship, in accordance with Swiss law. Extended warranties offered directly by component manufacturers (e.g., Orbea, ENVE) apply under their respective terms. We accept no liability for damage resulting from normal wear and tear, improper maintenance, crashes, or competitive racing.

5.7 Jurisdiction and Applicable Law

These GTC and any disputes arising from them are governed exclusively by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is Morges, Canton de Vaud, Switzerland.
